This thesis explores the pathway between niche internet content and marketable media. Has marketing been infiltrated by internet culture, or have memes lost their meaning when used outside of niche online communities? At first, it seems that memes have been appropriated by the modern marketing landscape but what if they have been intertwined all along? The Memes transformation mirrors its original transition from popular media into internet culture.
