Growing up, I wanted to learn about anything and everything related to the creative field. This first came in the form of fine arts through traditional mediums of paints like acrylics and oils, then moved into digital illustration and off the screen into sculpture. But my first exposure to design broadened my horizons completely and introduced new ways of connecting with others that I hadn’t known before. It is an understatement to say that design has truly helped me understand myself and make sense of the impact I want to leave.
Curiosity and connection are, and continue to be, at the heart of everything I strive to do. And with its variability, design keeps me learning and growing, allowing me to continually experiment and do things in a new way. I’m ever thankful for the flexibility I developed as a designer at SJSU, and as I graduate from this program, I hope to continue forming meaningful connections and create positive impact with the foundations I built in the BFA.
